Theme description

TaegukXP is actually a double pack, consisting of a Korean and an English version you may want to choose from. – Note: Within its selection menu, BootSkin displays Hangul as garbage, no matter if your locale is EUC-KR or UTF-8.  Don’t worry, that’s the program’s “normal” behavior and doesn’t affect the boot screen itself.  Their messages can be understood as:
 (1)  Korean: 이것은 세상에서 가장 아름다운 미소를 머금은 인사이다.

 (2)  English: “With TaegukXP you are being welcomed with the cutest smile in universe!”

Synopsis  ;)

Taeguk (태극 太極) is the Korean way of the Daoist principle of Taiji.  In this composition its representation – the yin-yang circles – is the link between the background graphics and the symbols on the young lady’s cheeks.

I preferred the Yale transcription “taeguk,” hence the correct one according to the Revised Romanization just would look odd.  Also I avoided special characters deriving from McCune-Reischauer.

I extracted the eyes’ motif out of a little pic in a blog about Korea I had read ages before; it probably got something to do with Asian’s first soccer world cup in 2002.

This theme is not animated; something moving would be needless here, and I even didn't know where to put it.  Just enjoy the smile. :)

NB: Deviation update (13/7/23) – just edited a few pixels.

Although it's ok looking, low res xp boot screens hurt my eyes so badly.
